NIH

Received an email last night from William Lee Rand.  William has founded the International Center for Reiki Training and the Center for Reiki Research.  I also studied Karuna Reiki(R)with him.
He had just learned that the Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) component of the NIH did not include the study of biofield medicine in its 5 year plan..and that the deadline for input was yesterday.  So I sent in my comments and forwarded his email to every Reiki practitioner in my contacts.
CAM presently has 5 Reiki studies going.  The field of quantum physics is presenting us with the science behind the phenomenon of Reiki and healing touch. There are electromagnetic fields around each cell and Reiki has an impact on this.
It's sad that money will be re-allocated, leaving the "woo-woo" modalities out.  I am not denigrating research for cancer or heart disease, but we need to become proactive to prevent illness, rather than closing the barn door after the horse is gone.  With what we are facing with the new taxes coming out of the woodwork, alternative care will be ever more important.  Nancy Pelosi said "we need to pass this bill to know what is in it." I could not believe the stupidity of this comment when I heard it.  The bill was 2000 or so pages and the regulations recently written total 4000 pages.  Employers are making tough, significant decisions about whether they will offer health care to their employees, at what cost and what coverage.  We are going to need to take care of ourselves and be responsible for our care. Reiki works!
