Just finished reading "Way of the Peaceful Warrior" by Dan Millman. It's an interesting blend of fact and fiction to present basic themes that many authors are talking about. There are also those who have not yet put pen to paper who are getting the same messages.
He addresses the mental chatter in a different way, by clarifying the difference between the brain and the mind. The brain engages in activities that are current, real and now. The mind is the home of everything else that pulls us away from focusing on now. He thinks that having a mind is a design flaw in the human species. At first, I agreed. But now I posit that the mind is purposeful and the arena for all Soul/life lessons.
Millman also talked about immortality, noting that we always were, are now, and ever will be, immortal. Brian Weiss is a pioneer in past life regression. When doing hypnosis on some of his clients, he found them talking about experiences of another time/life that were still impacting their lives. "Same Soul, Many Bodies" is a great read, documenting the existence of prior lives.
Michael Newton in "Destiny of Souls" goes to a different level with regressing people to the time spent in Spirit between lives. It is a fascinating book, but not an easy read as he is presenting notions that are not easy to wrap one's head around.
As hard as he tried, Newton met a stone wall in trying to elicit information clients would not reveal due to The Law of Silence. Our need to know cannot be completely satisfied. But, we have all been "there", so we "know". Within us is that knowingness. We need to trust that mystery of knowingness.
Slowing down, quieting the chatter in the arena called the mind will allow us to tap into knowingness. This involves taking responsibility to choose to engage in the process of not allowing the mind to steal the moment.
Illness can occur when the mind steals the moments that could be devoted to laughter, enjoyment NOW. However, illness can be turned into a positive passage to new awareness, a new path (such as with me).
Reiki healing does help mind chatter and, when that happens, the possibilities from Reiki are endless, with the biggest one of all being a trust in our Soul Mission. Let go and let God. Trust and patience are issues for all of us. The journey continues.
